Mysterious invaders called the Septentriones arrive in Japan and begin attacking the country on a Sunday. To fight back, the heroes in Devil Survivor 2 signed a pact with the devil to become the Thirteen Devil Messengers. The Septentriones show up at least once a day and you have a time limit of seven days to defeat them. (Source: Megami Tensei Wikia)
I liked it.
This show is based on a JRPG which I don’t have any familiarity so I don’t know what are the differences the anime has with the original game – I’ll just shut up regarding that matter.
The show already won my attention and interest the first few minutes of the episode showing the main character’s death. It was exciting all throughout and it didn’t bore the hell out of me. That’s the most important thing for me when watching an anime. It should never be too boring.
We were introduced to a site called “Nicaea” which sends video clips of your friends’ death right before it happens. Then when Kuze and Daichi (Our main characters) were on the train station, a video clip was sent into their phones showing their unfortunate deaths. What I liked about this is that the thought of leaving the station came into their minds, reacting realistically. They didn’t just stand idly disregarding the warning of the video. Then, the accident really happened and the Demon Summoning Program comes into play. Demons started attacking them and thankfully, they can summon demons who can protect them.
However the setup was pretty much generic. We have a happy-go-lucky bestfriend and a girl who was a real beauty and apparently an important figure in their school. The “ordinary” main character possesses a very powerful and unique demon, catching the attention of a certain organization and of the possible main villain.
Anyway, I’m loving the character designs and the animation so far. I just hope that this show wouldn’t disappoint me.
An exciting show about Summoning Demons, following!!!
